The Timetable of Life

Schedules - Day Planners - Blackberry's - Calendars...... Are you the type of person that likes to plan out your day,  your week and so on?  I believe that most of us do like to make plans and tell ourselves that certain things will or must happen at specific times.  When we can arrange our lives on a schedule it truly does seem to make it less stressful and more productive.  But, then there are other times when life seems to have us hastily running back and forth, often causing us to become impatient, in a hurry, and then stumbling over our two feet.  Sometimes we are faced with circumstances beyond our control, other times just minor disruptions.

Do you ever notice though, when life's timetable is running smoothly that human beings have the tendency to forget God is in control?  Yes, we "know" that God is in control and we "know" that we need Him - we just confirm it with our actions.

But, good news....... God never forgets about us.  He does not work by our clock's time.  So, when life throws you a unexpected twist and you start trying to make sense of it all, calm down and enjoy the divine encounter.  Realize and understand that God has a separate timetable.  He is never late!  Our life's timetable has been rearranged so that we might rediscover our need and love for Him.  The Bible promises us in Romans 8: 28-29 that He will work all things out for good according to His purposes.

                                                    God knows the past -
                                         the present -
                                              and He knows the future.

                                          God is in control!

Good Morning!

"It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassion fail not.  They are new every morning; great is thy faithfulness."  Lam. 3:22,23

I woke up this morning thankful.  Although it is still just 3:25AM, I do plan to go back to sleep and try to get at least 3-4 more hours of this wonderful blessing from God called - SLEEP.

It's been a rough past few days.  My spouse has not felt well for a long time.  You get tired of going to a doctor only to hear the words - "we can't find anything - try this."  So, we go on.  All that to say..........God is so good!    I am thankful that I woke up this morning next to his beating heart.  I'm thankful for his beautiful smile.  I am thankful for the Lord's mercies every morning.

With that in mind, here's a few inspiring words for today.

                                                              TODAY
"Today is ours - - - let's live it.

And love is strong - - - let's give it.

A song can help - - - let's sing it.

And peace is dear - - - let's bring it.

The past is gone - - -  don't rue it.

Our work is here - - - let's do it.

The world is wrong - - - let's right it.

If evil comes - - - let's fight it.

The road is rough - - - let's clear it.

The future is vast - - - don't fear it.

Is faith asleep?  let's wake it.

Today is ours - - - let's take it."                  Unknown

Jesus Christ Is Alive!

Getting Ready For Easter

Today as I am cleaning, grocery shopping and preparing for Easter, deep thoughts accompany me.  That alone is frightful - right?  First of all, I sincerely miss not having my children close by so that I can enjoy their company and that of my grandchildren.  Yes, holidays have a special significance and we do pay respect to this, however, your own children and their families bring a different and exciting atmosphere to the occasion.  Young children bring innocence and a type of humor that is priceless.

Putting that aside, my heart is also heavy with the fact that there are countless people out there - adults and children alike, that absolutely have no clue about the true meaning of Easter.   Be assured, I'm not slandering the Easter bunny, egg hunts and all of the attachments that the holiday brings.  These festivities are not what the spiritual side of Easter is about but they are an added delight and joy for the entire family.

The true joy and delight - the true meaning of Easter is that Jesus Christ - the One whom was born into this world as "the baby in a manger" - was crucified on a Cross so that we could experience freedom from   our sins, have a relationship with Him and have eternal life.  Easter commemorates these events in history.   Due to the fact that Christ died and arose 3 days later from the grave, our lives have been forever changed.  All we have to do is BELIEVE.  It really isn't hard.
                                                           Jesus truly is ALIVE!

How do we know "He lives?"

                                       "He lives within my heart."

I encourage anyone reading this - if all of this sounds Greek or foreign to you - please contact me.  I will be more than happy to help you understand the true meaning of what Easter is all about.  To have a personal relationship with God is unlike anything you have ever - or will ever experience.
